Our mission is to provide quality products and
services that anticipate and fulfill your needs for security, savings and peace
of mind. This statement is intended to provide you an understanding of our
collection, use and protection of private and confidential information.
What you should know.
We recognize our obligation to keep information
about you secure and confidential. It's important for you to know that we do
not share Member Information and Non-member information with marketers outside
the AAA Carolinas family of companies and our preferred vendors that deliver
you savings. If you so desire, you may tell us you don't want to receive direct
marketing offers from us or from our preferred vendors. We carefully manage
information among our family of companies to assist you in a roadside emergency
and automobile repair services and to provide you with travel services,
insurance, loans, repair services and club products. Our goal is give you better
service and more convenience, and to improve our overall services to you.
What the statement covers.
This policy covers Member and Nonmember
Information, which means personal information about a member or a non-member's
current or former relationship with AAA Carolinas family of companies.
Making the security of information a priority.
Keeping Member and
Nonmember Information secure is one of our most important responsibilities. We
value your trust and handle information about you with care. At AAA Carolinas,
we limit access to member and Nonmember information to those employees who need
it to provide products and services to you. We maintain physical, electronic
and procedural safeguards and continually assess and implement new technologies
for protecting information when appropriate.
Collecting information.
We collect and use various types of
information to service your requests, save you time and money and better
understand your needs. We want to help you learn more about club services that
may make your life safer and more enjoyable or may be of interest to you.
We categorize the Member or Nonmember Information that we collect as being
one of the following four types:
- Information you provide to us on applications, travel
requests and payments
- Information about your use of club services such as
emergency roadside assistance requests, your "Show Your Card and
Save" purchases, trip plans and club services
- Information from other AAA clubs regarding membership
transfers or requests for services outside the AAA Carolinas area
- Other general information we obtain about you that
may help us better serve you such as demographic information.
Managing information for your
convenience.
The information we use helps us bring you a valuable services
and savings but most importantly, peace of mind as you travel. We limit who
receives Member and Nonmember Information and what type of information is
shared within our family of companies. AAA Carolinas is made up of a small
number of companies, including our motor club, our insurance agency and our car
repair company. The AAA Carolinas companies work together to provide the
products and services you want and need, save you time and money and make it
easier for you to do business with us.
Sharing information with
companies that help us deliver services to you.
We may share Member and
Nonmember Information with companies that work with us to provide you products
and services. We share the information in order to provide you a good customer
experience. These companies may include companies such as servicing garages,
group tour companies and other AAA clubs. All of these companies are
contractually obligated to keep the information that we provide to them
confidential and they use the information only to provide the services we've asked
them to perform for you and us.
Disclosing information in other
situations.
We may also disclose Member Information and Nonmember when
required by law. Such disclosures may include those in connection with a
subpoena or similar legal process, or a fraud investigation.
Honoring your preferences.
You
have choices when it comes to learning about new offers and services from AAA
Carolinas. You can choose not to receive savings opportunities and marketing
offers by mail, phone and/or e-mail from us or from our preferred vendors.

In order to ensure that we
accurately reflect your request, please provide your full name and street
address, member number, telephone number and email address along with your
preferences for no mail, no phone, or no email. Please note that it may take
six to eight weeks to make your request fully effective. Even if you elect not
to receive product and service information by direct mail, telemarketing or
e-mail, you will continue to be contacted as necessary to service your
membership, and receive the AAA GO Magazine, and receive marketing information
included with your regular renewal mailings or when you visit us online.
